Occupational License

An occupational license is a restricted license that is issued to drivers who have a suspended or revoked license. It allows drivers to travel to work, school, and to perform necessary household errands. The application for a restricted license must be filed in the County where the driver lives, or the County which ordered the suspended license. Before an occupational license can be given, the driver must pay all required fees. An occupational license can be issued for a period up to 2 years.

A driver will not be eligible for an occupational license if the license was suspended for a medical illness, mental impairment, or delinquent child support. An occupational license cannot authorize the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
